Sultan woman killed in hit-and-run
SULTAN, Wash. - A Sultan woman died along the side of the road after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night.
Sultan police were called to the scene, at the 311th Avenue SE Bridge just south of State Route 2, at about 8:30 p.m.
Officers found the victim, whom they later identified as a longtime Sultan resident, at the accident scene, said a spokesperson for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
The woman was pronounced dead, but the vehicle that hit her was nowhere to be seen.
Two men who had been with the woman described what happened. They told police that a nondescript vehicle was heading south on 311th Avenue SE Bridge, struck the woman and kept going without stopping.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives are actively investigating the case.
There is no good description of the hit-and-run vehicle, but investigators believe it has new front-end damage, which may be on the right side of the vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Joe Goffin at (425) 388-5436.
