Man killed by Pierce Co. deputies after chase had arrest warrant
TACOMA, Wash. - There was an arrest warrant out for the man shot and killed Saturday by Pierce County sheriff's deputies after a chase in Puyallup.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports 30-year-old Jason D. Burrow of Spanaway had been charged with assault for choking his girlfriend's 12-year-old son.

Police say Burrow, 30, of Spanaway was found driving erratically near 160th and Canyon Road south of Puyallup Saturday afternoon.

A Pierce County deputy was in the area and saw the man zoom by him at speeds estimated at 70 to 80 mph, said Det. Ed Troyer.

The deputy attempted to pull Burrow over, but he continued to flee, clipping several cars as he sped away.

Deputies performed a PIT maneuver to force Burrow to stop, Troyer said, and the driver ended up broadsiding a deputy's cruiser.

After the collision, Burrow turned his car around and started driving toward other deputies who had formed a blockade around the collision.

The deputies opened fire and shot Burrow. His SUV then crashed into a ditch near 162nd Court E.

Burrow died at the scene. No one else was injured.
