SEATTLE - A hair salon was targeted by two armed robbers dressed in black who fired a gun as they fled from the scene Saturday evening with an undisclosed amount of cash. Both remain at large.
Investigators said the two men, wearing all black clothing and ski masks, strode into the salon in the 2300 block of 15th Avenue South at about 6:40 p.m. They were armed with handguns.
A female employee was at the rear of the salon and walked to the front when she heard the door chime. As she entered the room, one of the robbers grabbed her by the shirt and ordered her to the floor.
Both men demanded money from her, and she handed them some cash.
A male employee who was also inside the salon heard the commotion and walked to the other employee's location. As he entered, one of the robbers ordered him at gunpoint to walk to the back of the business.
That provided a brief opportunity for the first employee to run out of the salon. She bolted across the street to a gas station for assistance. Both robbers fled the business when they discovered the woman had escaped.
Both employees and several other people in the area heard one or two gunshots as the suspects fled the scene, but no property damage to the business or adjacent buildings was found by officers.
Neither victim was injured during the incident. The suspects remain at large.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 911 or Seattle police immediately.
