Pedestrian killed in Everett crash

EVERETT, Wash. -- A car crash on State Route 99 left one man dead on Thursday night.

Trooper Keith Leary said a 49-year-old Everett man headed south on foot on SR 99 attempted to cross Airport Road against the light at a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was hit by a 2004 Cadillac at 5:45 p.m. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Troopers believe the pedestrian may have been under the influence of alcohol. His name has not been released.

No charges are expected against the driver of the Cadillac.
