SHORELINE, Wash. -- A man has died after being hit by a falling tree at Hamlin Park on Thursday night.

Fire officials said the 40-year-old man and his wife were walking their dog around the park at 15th Avenue NE and NE 160th Street when he was hit around 7 p.m. amid windy conditions.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known whether his wife was injured.
