Gore greeted by protesters in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Al Gore is in town, and some are none too thrilled.
Opponents of the Nobel Peace Prize winner gathered outside the Oregon auditorium where Gore was scheduled to speak.
Protesters sported signs challenging the existence of global warming and Gore's eco-friendly measures, and vandals sprayed graffiti on the walls and stairs of Keller Auditorium.
Among the messages: "Global warming is a lie," and "cap and trade largest tax in U.S. history."
Gore was in Portland to promote his new book, "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis."
The books suggests changes in the ways we produce and use energy, and manage farms and forests to help avoid or minimize the negative effects of climate change Gore detailed in his book and Academy Award-winning movie, "An Inconvenient Truth."
