Constantine appoints 6 to leadership roles
SEATTLE -- King County Executive-elect Dow Constantine has appointed six people to leadership positions in his office.

The named six will join Constantine when he takes office next week.

Tukwila City Administrator Rhonda Berry will serve as Constantine's assistant deputy county executive, and Steve Call, a consultant in private practice, will be the interim budget director.

Sung Yang, Seattle City Light's chief of staff, was named the director of government and labor relations, and Carrie S. Cihak, a policy and budget analyst for the King County Council, was appointed as the director of strategic initiatives

Lorrie McKay, who formerly served as sate relations manager and federal relations manager under executives Ron Sims and Kurt Triplett, was named to the post of director of customer service.

And Constantine appointed Frank Abe, communications director for the King County Council and former KIRO Newsradio 710 reporter, as his director of communications.

Constantine said he has reduced the number of positions in the executive's office by 15 percent, and his staff members will take a 10- to 15-percent pay cut from salaries in the previous administration. The six appointees will take their new posts in the next two weeks.

Constantine will be sworn into office on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. at Daniels Recital Hall on Fifth and Marion in downtown Seattle.
