Bellingham police: Woman died under suspicious circumstances
BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Police here are investigating the death of a woman whom, according to detectives, died under suspicious circumstances on Monday.
Investigators said an acquaintance of the woman reported that she was in distress around 5 p.m. Emergency officials found the woman in the 400 block of Bakerview Road, some 75 feet from the road and near some trails in a wooded area.
The woman, who appeared to be in her late 30s or early 40s was in need of medical care, police said. Medics responded to the scene, and pronounced her dead.
The cause of the unidentified woman's death has not been determined, and an autopsy is planned.
No other details were immediately available, and the investigation is ongoing.
