SEATTLE -- When a thief broke into Loretta's Northwesterner restaurant in Seattle's South Park neighborhood last week, he stole cash, liquor, and food.

But it's what he left behind that's surprising.

"We did find the mix tape on the floor," said manager Mike Poetzel.

The Maxell cassette titled 'Summer of '86', gave Poetzel an idea, which he's now posted on YouTube.

"I grabbed the security camera footage and was processing it and I was listening to the tape on my tape deck while I was working on the video," he said. "So I got to know the songs, so I picked a couple that would fit."

Now, anyone at home can watch as the thief ransacks the bar to Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling."

The robber made his way out the back door.

"If you listen to the whole tape, it's kind of like make out music," Poetzel said. "So it's an interesting thing to be carrying around for 23 years or whatever."

With the heartfelt track of "Say You, Say Me," he got off the tape, Potezl even captured the emotional moment when the crook tried smashing open the cash register.

"It's a positive way to deal with a negative situation," he said.

Regulars hope the nostalgia will nail the thief.

"Maybe he's missing it. Maybe he'll come back to get it," said customer Dara Elish.

Or, as the manager hopes, someone will recognize the thief from the video and call police.
