Four-legged thief leaves family turkeyless on Thanksgiving
POST FALLS, Idaho -- The sneaky work of a four-legged thief left one local family without a turkey on Thanksgiving.

The victims reported that the bird had been set out to thaw when the thief took the turkey and ran.

A brazen thief was caught red-handed by a neighbor but there was little that could be done to stop him.

Erik Ator was leaving a local gym on Thursday morning when he spotted the thief clenching a wrapped, uncooked turkey in its jaw, and running down the street. Ator managed to snag a couple photos of the yellow Labrador-Retriever mix as it fled down the street.

The woman who had purchased the turkey is seven and a half months pregnant. She said she and her husband spent their last $25 on the free-range turkey.

But all was not lost, thanks to generous neighbors who provided the couple with a turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner.

Despite widespread publicity of the case - both locally and nationally, the whereabouts of the thief could not be determined.
