Woman dies after being struck by truck in South Seattle
SEATTLE -- A woman has died after being struck by a truck while walking on Tuesday night.

Police said the 78-year-old woman was walking at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Andover Street when she was struck by a truck around 6:30 p.m. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver told police he was headed turning right from Andover into the northbound lanes of Rainier when he struck the pedestrian.

The cause of the crash has not been determined; however, police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role.
