Deputies search for missing Tukwila man near Ellensburg
ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Sheriff's deputies are looking for a Tukwila man who has been missing since Monday in the mountains between Ellensburg and Naches.
The Kittitas County sheriff's office says 62-year-old Dwight Bates had been elk hunting in the Manastash area and was attempting to drive to Highway 410. He called his son to say road conditions were bad.
He told his son he believed he could get back to Barbara Springs where he could take the Umptanum Road over the top, Undersheriff Clayton Myers said.
Bates was driving a 1967 Ford pick-up truck that is green and white with a matching canopy, with Washington license plate B39032C.
Search officials and volunteers are working out of the Manastash Snow Park.
