Seattle motorcycle officer injured in crash
SEATTLE - A Seattle police motorcycle officer was injured in a crash Thursday morning in downtown Seattle when a motorist turned in front of him.

Investigators said the officer was getting off the southbound I-5 Express Lane at Eastlake Avenue E. and Stewart Street with the green light at about 9:30 a.m.

The main I-5 traffic was coming off at the same time. The driver of the other vehicle was not aware of the two lanes to his left and made a left turn in front of the officer, Seattle police said in a statement.

The officer was knocked off his motorcycle. He was treated at the accident scene by Seattle Fire Department medics and transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was investigated and released. The investigation is ongoing.
