US News: Four Wash. high schools in top 100
BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) - Four suburban Seattle high schools are in U.S. News & World Report's list of the best 100 schools in the nation.
Three public schools in Bellevue schools and one in Kirkland made the top 100 list. Near the top at No. 10 is Bellevue's International School. Kirkland's International Community School, which is in the Lake Washington School District, is No. 29. Bellevue's Newport High School is No. 72 and Bellevue High School is No. 78.
The news magazine mentions 17 Washington high schools in its silver category, which it also considers top performers. And the state has 30 schools getting bronze medals.
The magazine looks at data from 21,000 public high schools to create its annual list.
