1 dead, 1 injured in suspicious Tacoma fire
TACOMA, Wash. - One person was killed and another was injured in a suspicious fire early Sunday in a Tacoma residence, officials said.
Firefighters responded to the scene, at 7202 S. Lawrence St., at about 3:25 a.m. after receiving 911 calls about the blaze.
When crews arrived, they found a fifth-wheel trailer engulfed in flames that had spread to an adjacent home, said Tacoma Fire Department spokesman Joe Meinecke.
A search-and-rescue team found a body inside the home, along with another person who was rushed to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Meinecke said the fire is "suspicious in nature" and is being investigated by the Tacoma police and fire investigators.
There was no immediate information about the victims.
