Restaurant employee pistol-whipped in early morning robbery
SEATTLE -- A Jack in the Box employee is recovering after she was injured during a Monday morning robbery in West Seattle.
The woman said the two masked men snuck in through an unlocked back door at the restaurant at 4203 Admiral Way SW and came in, guns blazing.
"They basically came in very quickly, put guns to our faces, and told the crew to get on the ground," said the employee, who we are not identifying.
The pair took money from a cash register, and then ordered the woman upstairs.
She says the men suddenly pistol-whipped her while she was getting money out the safe because she wasn't moving fast enough. She was treated for head injuries at a nearby hospital then released
"I have a bad headache," she said. "My vision out of my one eye isn't what it was before. So I have to see an eye doctor because of it."
The woman said the door was unlocked because they had just completed a bread delivery. The men were wearing gloves and were in and out of the restaurant in less than five minutes, she said.
The robbers are still on the loose, but police are checking video from the restaurant's surveillance cameras for any clues.
In the meantime, the victim says she's been traumatized by the whole ordeal.
"Yeah, there are scars that are not only physical, but mental," she said.
