7th grader missing from ski trip found dead
Nathan Cain
TOLLGATE, Ore. -- A two-day search for a lost middle-school student who got separated from his family during a ski trip ended Monday when the boy's body was found.

Our sister station KEPR, reported that Walla Walla County Sheriff's office personnel said the remains of Nathan Cain had been located about 11:40 a.m.

Nathan was skiing with his father and some adult friends when he got separated from the group Saturday near the Andies Prairie Sno-Park area, in Union County.

Nathan was a seventh-grader at Rogers Adventist School in College Place, Wash., the school's principal, Jim C. Weller, said.

Weller says crews looked for the boy throughout the night Saturday, when temperatures dropped to the 20s. He was dressed in a light jacket and blue jeans.

The search continued Sunday with the help of a helicopter, but was suspended for the night when darkness fell.

Officials said Nathan's body was found more than two miles from where he was last seen alive.

Andies Prairie is in the Umatilla National Forest, just off State Highway 204.
