POULSBO, Wash. -- It seems like yesterday when we witnessed the birth of the Poulsbo quintuplets, but four years later, they still draw smiles and stares whenever they head out in their matching outfits.

"I still think of myself in the hospital having them," said Courtnee Stevenson. "It just seems like time has gone so quickly."

Tuesday, the Stevenson quintuplets turned four, which means five rounds of Happy Birthday.

This is a day Mike and Courtnee feared wouldn't happen.

"I was really in fear for my kids' lives," Courtnee Stevenson said.

The birth was risky, but the rewards five times greater than you can explain.

From the moment they were born, five different personalities emerged.

"Got some shy ones, tough ones, and Tom boys," said Mike Stevenson.

Anniston and Bella study ballet, Scarlet likes soccer, while Weston plays hockey in the halls and big sister Lilli coaches Cami in gymnastics.

"It takes a lot of patience to raise this family," Courtnee said.

It takes nearly three hours every morning to get the quints up, fed and dressed.

"Usually 'I'm hearing I don't like you', and then they're naked on the trampoline," Courtnee said.

Chaos is common in the Stevenson home. Bad moods are contagious, but so is the joy.

"There's no book on how to raise quintuplets and a 7-year-old so I'm just winging it like every other mom out there," Courtnee said.

For a birthday present, each child received $5 to go shopping for the toy they wanted.
