AUBURN, Wash. - A 90-year-old woman escaped without injury Thursday morning from her burning mobile home in North Auburn, fire officials said.

Crews responded to the scene, in the River Mobile Estates at 3611 I St. NE, at about 6:40 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about heavy black smoke and flames coming from a double-wide mobile home, said Kimberly McDonald-Terhune of the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

When firefighters arrived, they found half of the home engulfed in flames and the woman safely outside.

Crews from three fire engines and a medical aid unit quickly extinguished the fire, but the mobile home was destroyed. The adjacent mobile homes were protected by firefighters and not damaged.

The woman will stay with relatives who live in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
