SEATTLE -- King Tut is coming back to the Emerald City.

The West Coast premiere of "Tutankhamen, the Golden King and the Great Pharos" exhibit will be featured at the Pacific Science Center in 2012 as part of the their 50th anniversary celebration.

The exhibit will run from May 24 through Jan. 6, 2013 and contain more than 100 artifacts from the boy king's tomb, including the golden sandals that were put on his mummified feet. Also on display will be artifacts from other prominent rules in Egypt 2,000 years ago.

The center is expecting a big draw as the last time King Tut artifacts were on display there in 1978, it attracted 1.3 million visitors -- some even camping out to get a good spot in line.

The city hopes the exhibit could bring more than $100 million for the local economy.

"It might help us influence conventions and meetings in 2012 when they know additional things to do here," said Tom Norwalk with the Seattle Convention & Visitor's Bureau.

A few of the artifacts scheduled to be on display this time were here in 1978 too, but the center says most of the items featured are new and never before and haven't left Egypt in over 30 years. They say back in the 70s, an exhibit item was broken when it was on tour and thus there's been reluctance to let other artifacts leave Egypt since then, until now.

Even though the exhibit is two years away, the first tickets for large groups will go on sale this fall, and to members and individuals in the fall of 2011.
