KIRKLAND, Wash. -- 911 tapes from the home of soccer star Hope Solo that led to her fiance's arrest in November were released Monday.
The call for help came the night before her wedding to former Seattle Seahawks and UW tight end Jerramy Stevens. According to the police report, when officers arrived, they saw Solo had a bloody elbow, and found her brother Marcus Solo had injuries to his head, eye and knees. Another woman was on the floor with a hip injury and blood drops were throughout the house.
Jerramy Stevens was found upstairs, and police said in their report he "appeared to be hiding" on the floor between a wall and bed. Stevens claimed he was sleeping and never heard anything.
The caller to 911 identified himself as Marcus Solo and told the dispatcher there'd been trouble.
"There was a little fight inside the house and she got thrown to the ground and she might have dislocated her hip," Marcus Solo told the dispatcher, apparently referring to the other woman who had been injured. The caller said about eight people were at the home just after 3 a.m. on Nov. 12, including Hope Solo and Stevens. Marcus Solo said they'd been drinking alcohol when things turned physical and a stun gun had been used. But he wouldn't give dispatchers any information on who was involved.
Dispatcher: "Who's the person that was kind of the instigator?" Marcus Solo: "We won't go there. Please get here."
Officers arrested Stevens for domestic violence assault, but a judge set him free the next day for lack of evidence. Stevens and Hope Solo got married hours later.
While the caller never specifies how the attack happened, Hope Solo can be heard arguing with her brother when the dispatcher calls back and Marcus Solo asks her to take the line. A moment later, the call ends.
Kirkland Police completed their domestic violence investigation and forwarded the case to prosecutors. No charges have been filed.
Partial transcription of 911 call between Marcus Solo and dispatcher:
Dispatcher: "What's going on today?"
Marcus: "There was a little fight inside the house and she got thrown to the ground and she might have dislocated her hip." Dispatcher: "Any weapons involved in the fight?"
Marcus: "A stun gun, actually."
Dispatcher: "How many people are there?
Marcus: "There's a half-dozen, not more.... eight maybe?"
Dispatcher: "Was the fight physical fight besides the stun gun?"
Marcus: "There was definitely a physical altercation and an innocent bystander got hurt."
Dispatcher: "Who was the person who was the instigator?"
Marcus: "We won't go there, please get here."
Dispatcher: "All the parties that were fighting, are they separated?"
Marcus: "Yes, ma'am."
Dispatcher: "Are all of them still there?"
Marcus: "I don't know."
Dispatcher: Anybody using drugs or alcohol today?
Marcus: "Alcohol, definitely."
Dispatcher asks where the victim is located. Marcus answers in living room-dining room area.
Dispatcher: "What did this start over?"
Marcus: "I don't know"

She couldn't find a better guy than this?? His NFL career is over, no job, no job prospects, a known rapist. Girl's, please quit falling for losers. His dna does not need to live on.
@Sanctuary seriously!
Another Solo story.
Just as bad as Amanda Knox story.
Sorry for reminding you.
I haven't heard the tape and neither do I intend to. I've often wondered what it is about some people that they get some vicarious thrill listening to 911 tapes. For some folks out there the more gruesome the better. I know people who think it's amusing to listen to assaults and murders over the phone... they actually get on youtube to look this garbage up.Â
Look, I'm a combat veteran an my naivete went out the window a hell of a long time time ago but isn't the world buggered up enough without people getting their rocks off by listening to others get beaten and killed? I mean, WTF folks!
There is a great [but VERY black] comedy called 'God Bless America' that was written and directed by [of all people] Bobcat Goldthwait. In it, the main character asks a very pointed question that pretty much sums up the premise of the movie:
"What is the point in having a civilization if people are not longer interested in being civilized?"
It should go without saying that getting a thrill out of listening to violent 911 calls isn't very civilized at all, is it?
@svensson I for one like to hear the tapes because it shows the circumstances leading up to when the police arrive. This was not some gruesome heart wrenching tape but this does help the police when people like Stevens or Solo claim the police harass them for no reason at all. I like the tapes because it explains why police are dispatched.
Ever
@svensson Is it really that surprising? Our society is so jacked up these days. I wish I lived in the 50's.Â
I just regret this pack of losers didn't hurt themselves more.
She married the wife beater, I have zero sympathy for her
Jerramy Stevens always been the big man since River Ridge High in Lacey, UW and the pros. Always proving yourself against the ladies how tough you are. Big Man. Your parents sure must be proud. Stand tall and proud you punk.
This happened in November OF LAST YEAR? Â Must be a slow day in the KOMO news room... Â I'm off to find some real news.
@K. Coleman The tapes were released today. The incident happened in November. Careful reading can eliminate mistakes like these.
@Qchris Yeah, I read that, no mistake, it's still OLD NEWS. Â
@PilonidalCyst Just a matter of opinion, not that it really matters. Either way, think whatever you like, it makes no difference to me.
The tapes were just released, so it's new news despite your curmudgeonly insistence. Or maybe you're just a little slow. Or both?
