MILWAUKIE, Ore. - Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with the brutal beating of a homeless man at the Jefferson Boat Ramp earlier this month.

The victim, Andrew Gonzalez, was badly beaten on Aug. 1, police said.

Based on media coverage of the incident and tips from informants, investigators said they were able to link the trio to the incident.

Milwaukie police arrested 19-year-old Samuel Earl Morton on Aug. 17. The man, described as a transient, was indicted on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was lodged at the Clackamas County jail under $250,000 bail, police said.

Two juveniles, 16-year-old Shawn Glancy of Portland and 17-year-old Rauno Helmik of Gresham, were both charged as adults and indicted on attempted murder and first-degree assault charges. They were both being housed at the Donald E. Long detention center.
