Air freshener canisters prompt evacuation in Ephrata
EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) - A Grant County, Wash., spokesman says part of the courthouse in Ephrata was evacuated Thursday when employees returning from lunch found two canisters at the locked doors of the county clerk's office. Each canister had a battery on top.
Spokesman Kyle Foreman says that "erring on the side of safety," the Law and Justice Building was evacuated and emergency responders were called.
Turns out the canisters were air freshener replacement cartridges left by a maintenance vendor who dropped them by at lunchtime and found the doors locked.
