12-vehicle crash snarls I-5 near Centralia
GRAND MOUND, Wash. - Traffic was snarled for several hours on Interstate 5 Friday evening following a serious crash involving 12 vehicles about two miles north of Centralia.
The Washington State Patrol reports that several people were injured in the crash.
Troopers responded to the scene, near Grand Mound along the Thurston-Lewis county border, at about 2 p.m. Friday.
Emergency officials said six semi-trucks and six other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The exact cause of the accident was not immediately available.
All lanes were reopened by about 5:15 p.m., but backups remained into the evening.
