Accused pimp arrested in Pierce Co. after turning himself in
TACOMA, Wash. - An accused pimp suspected of trafficking girls as young as 13 for sex was arrested early Saturday after he turned himself in at the Pierce County jail, police said.
Jevante McCray, 20, turned himself in at about 1:25 a.m., said a spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department.
Snohomish County prosecutors have charged McCray and another man - Isiah Martin, 18 - with trafficking underage girls for sex. They are accused of exploiting at least five minors.
Authorities announced Tuesday the men were charged last week with second-degree human trafficking and multiple counts of promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor.
Prosecutors say the men were pimps, paying for motel rooms and Internet advertising so the girls could work as prostitutes. The defendants are accused of profiting from the sexual exploitation of minors.
Martin was arrested last week, and an arrest warrant was issued for McCray.
McCray and Martin were investigated in California earlier this year for assaulting a 16-year-old Puyallup girl they allegedly took to California.

He turned himself in because it was the right thing to do. no warm bed or free meals needed. Don't judge a book by the cover. Just sayin!!!
Hey Mr President, they got the wrong jobs don't you think?
He probably turned himself in not because he knew it was the right thing to do but because he wan't making enough profit and needed a warm bed and free meals. Either way, I'm glad he's off the streets, even if it is only for a little bit.Â
@WAREZ2012  1 of our big pimpin IM's got broke off 10 years for his role in the skn trade, more time than a sex offender, diaper snipin a child, they serve  2-3
years. we should reverse the sentences.
Well I'm surprised the loser had the guts to tuyrn himself in. Must've been threatened and needed protection or something.
@Zoso It's possible that he turned himself in because he was featured on the TV program "Washington's Most Wanted" just a few hours earlier.

This guy turning himself in is a good thing...unfortunately it's only a scratch on the surface of this sort of activity. If I was these folks, I'd be less concerned 'bout pimpin' and more concerned with preppin' to meet Jesus soon.
We need to legalize prostitution so that controls can be put into place to protect under age kids. What 2 consenting adults do together is no ones business but their own.
@Blindman  Seriously??? You are using sarcasm, right?
Pimpin' ain't easy.... sad that other young hookers with drug problems wish to make a living this way. Many put themselves there on the streets and play the victim card but in reality it's drugs that keep them there. Many other reasons lead them there but it's the call of the crack pipe, meth pipe or heroin that keeps them enslaved to prostitution. sad. :(
@Funky-Munky dude, seriously?? wow you really don't know the half of it.. These girls don't CHOOSE this kind of lifestyle...they are TARGETED by pimps who are ever on the lookout for girls to capture. They are runaways, they are abductees, they are girls unhappy at home who are drawn in by the promise of a better life. The pimp sweet talks them and showers them with gifts and money then drugs them to keep them under control. They don't get to KEEP their money! EVERYTHING belongs to the pimp. and they will use physical abuse, coercion and threats to keep the child under his control. It's a horrible way to live, NO ONE would choose to live this way of their own accord. That's why it's been called "modern day slavery". Sadly, there are hundreds of thousands of girls in the U.S. trapped into this lifestyle with little to no hope whatsoever. They do not, NOT choose this!!
@dead_n_bloated  @Funky-Munky Funky -munky just said that many, not all prostitutes fell under this description, although the comment may have been out of context considering that the girls specific to this story were minors. But that doesn't make Funky-Munky's statement untrue either. For different personal reasons, a lot of people really do make the worst choices for themselves time and time again.
@Funky-Munky Very sad, it's hard to want better in life when you dont think you are worth anything to begin with.......I hope they are able to help these girls.
