Alleged jewelry thief accused of shooting bellman pleads not guilty

SEATTLE -- A man who is accused of attempting to rob a jewelry store and shooting at a hotel bellman who tackled him amid the bustling streets of Downtown Seattle pleaded not guilty Monday.
Edmond Maynor, 35, is being held on $150,000 bail for charges of robbery and assault.
Prosecutors allege Maynor was attempting to rob the of Express Jewelers in Westlake Mall on Sept. 21 and fired a shot at the store owner, narrowly missing him. Maynor ran from the store, but was chased by Roberto Sandoval, a bellman from the nearby Mayflower Hotel, police said.
Sandoval chased the man for blocks, then wrestled with him. The masked man pulled the trigger, hitting Sandoval in the arm.
"I hear the three shootings and oh my, I know the guy killed me," Sandoval said in an interview on Sept. 26.
But police said amid the pandemonium, other passers-by then grabbed Maynor and restrained him. They piled on top of the man and held him down until officers arrived, cuffed him and took him into custody. Sandoval was treated for the gun shot wound to his arm and was expected to fully recover.
Witnesses said jewelry was seen spilled on the sidewalk after the incident, and a rubber mask and a gun also were seen lying on the ground.
Maynor's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 22.

Let's all plead not guilty when caught red handed. Seems to be a popular enough trend.
@Citizen#3457899654 for real. it's not like they're not going to get sentenced...
yep... following a lawyers advice... of course the lawyer is going to tell them to plead not guilty... even when there are many witnesses that say otherwise...Â
Guess the lawyer wants to get paid... by wasting more court time putting this dirtbag on trial..
He should have advised him to plead guilty, and ask for leniency because he is _____________. (fill in any silly reason)
Â
Yeah, he must be doing what his laywer's telling him to do, nevermind there's video of the incident.
Komo, how much do you pay for editors and your journalists? I know a lot of good English majors who are out of work and you constantly have typos and grammatical errors throughout your stories until readers comment on them.

"Prosecutors allege Maynor was attempting to rob the of Express Jewelers in Westlake Mall"
I have yet to hear one of these scumbags... say yes it was me! I hope karma takes you completely out of our shared world.
Reguardless of his or his family's or friend's financil assets, this guy shot someone and shot at others while comitting a felony...bail should be way more that 150K
Only $150k bail? Â His family / friends would only need to come up with $10 or 15k to get him out. Â Way to slap his wrists.Â
@CB I'm guessing if his family or friends had that kind of disposable income or assets to leverage for bail money, and were willing to front it for his bail then he wouldnt have needed to rob a jewlery store. I think $150k for bail is sufficient.
