AUBURN, Wash. -- Police are searching for a pair of armed robbers who targeted a trio of Green River Community College students Sunday morning.
College officials say the female victims, who are international students, were waiting for a bus a few blocks from campus at 316th and 124th Street when a red, four-door sedan pulled up to them at 10:30 a.m.
A man inside the car pulled out a gun and demanded money and phones from the students. The students complied and the robbers drove away.
None of the students were injured in the robbery.
With a new semester just getting under way, many students are not yet acclimated to the campus.
"Unfortunately, that tends to send a message out to those bad folks that want to take advantage of the situation," said GRCC administrator Vickie Sheehan.
One of the robbers is described as a black man in his early 20s. The man stands roughly 6'2" tall and has an athletic build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black and white zip-up hoodie and jeans, according to campus officials.
The second robber is a black woman in her early 20s who stands roughly 5'2" tall. She was wearing red Mickey Mouse pajamas with a hooded sweatshirt under a black jacket.
Campus officials are advising students and visitors to walk in groups, keep cell phones and electronic devices hidden and report any suspicious activity they see.
The college is also adding an additional Safety Ride van until 8 p.m. and has extended its service area to 308th Place.
Though it does not appear the crimes are linked, campus security workers say two cars were also stolen from campus parking lots on Monday.
Student Jon Mayer parked his car in one of the lots Sunday night and was stunned to learn of the thefts.
"It's all a surprise to me, but that's pretty scary knowing that cars getting stolen out of here," he said.

I go to school there and am also very concerned for the young ladies having to walk to their cars at night because it is a very wooded campus with lots of bushes too.
@Magic 8 Ball hahahah you said bushes, what is this the 70's?
@futhi151 I meant the campus has a lot of bushes, not the women. I see where your mind is ;-)
That bus stop is not that close to the campus. Â The campus is four LONG blocks south on 320th. The headline implies on-campus crimes, of which, only the stolen cars were.
Â
And could someone tell the Green River foreign exchange students to be a little more discreet with their electronics at the bus stop or on the bus? No, I am not blaming the victim but I have seen their indifference to the Seedy Elements of public transportation.Â
@Getov Mylon they're not indifferent. They're just sheltered. The girls in particular. Green River needs to step up their security or some day these parents are going to wise up to just what a dump Lea Hill really is, and how much everyone takes advantage of these kids.
@Getov Mylon They forget to hide them on public transportation because where they are from, they don't have problems with random thugs coming up to them and demanding their money and smartphones. God Bless America.
The GRCC parking lot has been a risky place to park your car for as long as I can remember. Most of my friends who went there in the late 80s actually bought beat up piece of crap cars, specifically to drive there because of the ridiculous amount of thefts. One guy I went to school with lost a really nice '67 RS/SS Camaro out of that lot.
@SV1G Yeah, that's pretty smart. If you're a true auto enthusiast, you'll likely have an appreciation for "the beauty of the beater" (i.e. city car). It might end up costing a little more to buy tabs and maintain a 1990s Honda, but it's smart to keep the fancy project as weekend drivers, not the daily driver. And if you can't afford to lose a nice car, you probably shouldnt use it as a daily driver anyway.
T_N_B....
"Pajama robbers" Â - sound like meth heads
@Komo Dragon Black people don't do meth.  I am sure it is rock cocaine.
@sfvcyco @Komo Dragon I doubt it's meth or cocaine. Just another case of a culture where a large percentage are too lazy to earn a living and think it's ok to steal and take from everyday people and the government.
@Bianca You are absolutely right and the sad part is that they voted for him because of the 1 thing they have in common not because of what he believes in. PURE IGNORANCE!!
@tkyed -- Yup, the majority of the 46% who voted for Obama.Â
Gee, good descriptions for once.
@Chico The article was copied from the GRCC email sent to students (which I received). Don't give KOMO too much credit.
@Magic 8 Ball
Well, I suppose a real journalist, might have asked, if one of the cars stolen from campus, was a red 4 door sedan?Â
Â
But that probably requries too much thought for the editors.
@Chico "Gee, good descriptions for once."
Â
I think they have to do that at least once a month in order to get their journalism credentials renewed.
@Getov Mylon  @Chico You're assuming they actually have journalism credentials to start with, after reading the careless slop they're cranking out on this site these days?Â
