FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Police here are looking for two men who robbed two gas station convenience stores early Wednesday.

Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said the first robbery happened about 1:30 a.m. when the men walked into a Chevron station at 1712 S 356th Street.

The store clerk, who would not give his name, said the men put a gun to the back of his head and took his wallet and the cash from two registers.

About 15 minutes later the same two men went to a 7-Eleven gas station at 28719 Military Road South, but the clerk at that store fought back, Schrock said.

The would-be robbers ran off without getting any cash. The store clerk was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries he sustained while fighting with the gunmen.

Schrock said the first robber is black, about 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a turquoise jumpsuit. He had navy blue gloves, a dark colored cap and a blue bandana covering his face. Schrock said the man was wearing a black shirt and black pants in the second robbery.

The second man involved in the robberies is black, also 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a short beard. He was wearing black pants, black hoodie, a gray cap, white gloves and shoes, and had a white scarf or shirt covering his face.

Police are also investigating whether another robbery in Renton a short time later could be connected. A 7-Eleven store in the 1200 block of SW 43rd St. was robbed at 2:10 a.m. by two similarly-described men with bandanas over their faces.

Anyone with information about the robbers is asked to call Federal Way police.
