Officials: Day care in Tacoma church attacked with firebomb
TACOMA, Wash. - A gas can was thrown through the window of a Tacoma day care center early Thursday in what fire officials say was an attempted arson.
Firefighters responded to the scene, in the 9200 block of Pacific Avenue South, at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday after an automatic alarm sounded.
When they arrived, fire crews found smoke and heat - but no flames - because the building's sprinkler system had activated and extinguished the worst of the fire.
An investigation determined that a gas can had been thrown through a window of the daycare facility. Fire officials are calling it a "definite" arson attempt.
The Pathways to Learning Child Care is located in the Church of God building.
No one was inside the building at the time of the incident, and there were no injuries. Damage is estimated at about $8,000.
The owner of the day care told KOMO News it's not the first attack on the facility. On Wednesday, he said, someone put a rock on the gas pedal of a van and rammed it into the side of the building.
No suspects have been identified.
The day care center remains closed Thursday.

Thanks for the info. I remember back in the day when my kids were in daycare in bonney lake wa. I regret not having had time to spend with my kids. All you younger people out there should get yourself a good education so that you don't have to work constantly. Then, your kids will get to spend time with you and it will be better for both of you.
