Bail set at $75,000 for accused pimp and child rapist

TACOMA, Wash. -- A 20-year-old Pierce County man was charged Thursday with child rape and promoting sexual abuse of a minor for allegedly having sex with and pimping out a 15-year-old girl.

Investigators say Tyler Elkins threatened the girl, forced her to have sex with him and made her sleep with three different "Johns."

Prosecutors say the victim was originally kidnapped in California by an acquaintance named "Hollywood." Hollywood allegedly forced the girl into a house at gunpoint and made her have sex with several men.

He later took nude photos of the girl and posted ads on several websites soliciting prostitution dates, prosecutors say. Whatever money the girl made, she gave to Hollywood.

Last week, Hollywood allegedly arranged for the girl to begin prostituting in Tacoma.

On Sunday, Hollywood handed the girl off to Elkins at a Tacoma hotel. On three separate occasions, prosecutors say Elkins set up prostitution dates, where men paid him $600 to $1,000 to have sex with the girl.

On Tuesday, Elkins took the girl to a nearby fast food restaurant. When Elkins went to the bathroom, the girl escaped and found a phone to call police.

Police tracked down and arrested Elkins the next day. He was arraigned on Thursday and plead not guilty. His bail was set at $75,000.
