Bastard Blasters: Centralia biz puts politicians' faces on clay pigeons

CENTRALIA, Wash. -- Have you ever thought of somehow getting even with the politicians who frustrate you?
Sure, you can vote them out. But two Centralia men have another idea.
They call them Bastard Blasters. They're clay pigeons -- real ones, like the ones used in skeet shooting with a little something added.
"I use a 3-D modeling program to make the face, and I design the sticker to fit exactly into the standard clay pigeon," said Dan Klug, co-founder of Bastard Blasters.
The two men call their clay pigeons collectors items, and they hope people save 'em, instead of shoot'em. But they admit they have taken orders from trap shooting clubs.
So far, the top seller is President Barack Obama followed by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sarah Palin.
The blasters are assembled at Centralia's Tin Men Supply, and the co-founders want you to know this is a patriotic place. They've even got a huge metal flag on the side.
"It really is patriotic," said co-founder Dan Rich, "freedom of speech."
Although these things are made to be destroyed, the co-founders stress this is all about fun.
"This is not a hate thing," Rich said. "If they want a hate thing, they have to go somewhere else. This is not about hating; it is just political fun -- good fun for us, and a way to make money."
To make money, they may need more images. So who's next next to get their face on a clay pigeon?
"George Bush has been suggested. George Bush, Jr.," said Rich.
But the company says whoever wins the Republican nomination will be the next to appear on a Bastard Blaster.
