Beacon Hill shooting becomes Seattle's first murder in 2013

SEATTLE -- In what has become the first murder in Seattle in 2013, the man shot multiple times outside his Beacon Hill home Monday evening has died of his injuries at Harborview Medical Center, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The 38-year-old victim was standing outside his house in the 2400 block of South Columbian Way around 5:40 p.m. when another man confronted him, shooting him multiple times before running off, according to police.

The victim was taken to Harborview with life-threatening injuries and has since died.

Police do not have a description of the shooter and are continuing to investigate.

According to police, the shooting does not appear to be random.
