Body found in Tacoma home, two teens arrested

TACOMA, Wash. -- A Tacoma woman came home Friday afternoon to find a dead body inside her house, and now her two teenage sons have been arrested on suspicion of first degree murder

The woman arrived at her house, located in the 800 block of East 52nd Street, and found her sons inside with a deceased male, according to Mark Fulghum with Tacoma Police.

Fulghum said the woman drove to a nearby police station to report the body, but when she returned, the body had been moved to an outside recycling bin.

Police questioned the woman and her sons, who are 14- and 16-years old, before arresting the boys.

Fulghum said the name and exact age of the victim isn't known, but he's likely a teenager. He said the victim's body showed obvious signs of trauma.

It's unclear if the boys knew the victim, and Fulghum said the investigation is still in its early stages.

"Part of what we're looking at is weapon, what took place, why it happened, who all is involved," he said. "We haven't identified our victim so we have a long way to go."

Neighbor Blake Sibley said he's never seen any problems coming from the home and was shocked to learn what had happened.

"No idea it would be a murder," he said. "Whoa, that's really close to home."

The teens were booked and will likely appear in court on Monday.
