Woman's body found in truck submerged near Mukilteo ferry
MUKILTEO, Wash. - The body of a 45-year-old woman has been found inside a pickup truck that was spotted underwater near the Mukilteo ferry terminal early Thursday.

Surveillance video shows that the truck was driven off the ferry terminal ramp at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, the Washington State Patrol said.

The surveillance footage shows the truck speeding down the hill toward the ferry dock, maneuvering around the closed gate, hitting the yellow tire barrier and then flying off the ramp out into the water.

Officials said the pickup is a Dodge registered to a Woodinville address.

The vehicle was first noticed about 7 a.m. Thursday in shallow water a short distance from the ferry dock.

Ferry operations were briefly disrupted while divers checked out the truck, but ferries resumed their routes by about 7:45 a.m.

The woman's body has been recovered but crews have been running into difficulties in lifting the truck.

Tow crews have been told to stay off the ferry ramp, instead using a boat launch a few hundreds yards south. And a rising tide and strong currents is making the recovery difficult.
