Bothell police say death of 80-year-old woman is suspicious
BOTHELL, Wash. -- A 42-year-old woman has been taken into police custody after her 80-year-old mother was found dead Saturday morning, said Denise Langford with Bothell Police.
The woman had called 911 around 5 a.m. summoning officers for medical assistance to her mobile home in the 3300 block of 228th Street SE.
Langford said the woman met officers outside her front door and made some "concerning statements." Officers went inside to find her 80-year-old mother suffering from severe traumatic injuries.
Medics arrived on scene but the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, Langford said. The daughter was then taken into custody.
Investigators were getting a search warrant to process the crime scene.
The victim's name has not been released.

What is wrong with people today? I mean really??
They need to make mobile homes illegal, too many injuries and death.
What did she say to concern the police? Whatever is was the police were going to keep her on lock down until they find out more. They sure do not want her running.
They have to wait for a search warrant after they find a dead 80 year old woman in the home and arrest her daughter?Â
Â
Soon any officer in the state will be able to tow your vehicle and take your blood based on nothing but a feeling. Â (or your attitude) Â
Â
Washington state is becoming a bad example and the perfect police state. Â Hopefully the rest of the country will learn what not to do by watching us. Â Â
Â
Â
Well, after the 7th when the legalize pot passes people WILL be pulled over, have their cars towed and be taken to the hospital to have the blood TAKEN out of their bodies based on nothing but suspicion by any cop in Washington state. Â (all at your expense by the way)Â
Â
Warrant my ass. Â They are just a tool used to make you think you still have your constitutional rights. Â
Â
This is the new America. Â Â
Â
Â
@Andrew Bush Obama signed the NDAA bill on 12/31/2011 that basically
overrides guarantees of the bill of rights, so in essence you are correct.
Â
Until the government opts to implement NDAA 2012 bill our rights stand
firm under the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights in the constitution.
Â
NDAA 2012 is a very scary bill and it can be implemented at the governments
discretion.
In essence it allow US Citizens to be held, without any charges for an unspecified
amount of time. Us citizens can also be executed without trial under the NDAA.
Â
Overall the NDAA that Obama signed is a very scary document and should
be read by all US citizens. If it actually were to be read by the majority of our
citizens, Obama would only receive a small percentage of the available vote.
Â
To actually expect the population to read that bill is only a pipe dream, but one
can hope that the voting public does read about the possible future that Obama
and his cronies have signed into law.
Â

.
@Andrew Bush They have probable cause based on her wild statements to go in and see if someone needs aid. Once there's a dead body they step out and get a warrant  - how is this unclear to you? This is exactly what to do. They should let grandma bleed out while they wait for a warrant?Â
Yes Andrew Bush, they do indeed need a search warrant before
any they can collect any evidence.
Any evidence uncovered without a valid search warrant could be
dismissed in court---that's the law, it is therefore enforced and that fact
is also guaranteed under the US constitution under the illegal search
and siezure section of the bill of rights.
@Andrew Bush if criminals and their attorneys/ lawyers dident have so many monkey wrenches to use made in to the LAWS, maybe criminals could be prosecuted with the crime alone., thanks to dna,we are getting some where fast.
@Andrew Bush i really should of capitalized my if
@Andrew Bush you kidding?! she's a suspect you ignorant fool!
@DylanJ  I know she is a suspect..And a dead woman is in the home.  Why wait for a search warrant?  Did you understand what I wrote before calling me ignorant?  Â
@Andrew Bush I'd say there isn't enough fact in the story to say why they did what they did but In the case of a death I'd roll this way.  As for the other points... not going to happen.
@Andrew Bush  @DylanJ I think he did, and it was pretty ignorant.
That is the address of a 55+ trailer community. Other than a couple fires in the past few years I haven't heard of any crime there. Shocking, sad, and too close to home. RIP
I wanna know what "concerning statements" means.
A 42 year old woman owns a 80 year old woman?
Â
"A 42-year-old woman has been taken into police custody after HER 80-year-old woman..."
@caphillkid Saw that too. I think they meant her 80-year-old mother.
@Tattooed_Angel Yes, they changed it. Apparently KOMO is better at reading the comments than proofreading their articles before they upload.Â
@caphillkid  @Tattooed_Angel Unfortunately, that is the
modus-operandi for the majority of our media sources in this day
and age. Most media sources will not amend the story after they
publish them, so I give a lot of credit to KOMO as they frequently
correct and edit the way the stories read, albeit it is too often after
the fact.
