Boy found in Fife in protective custody; parents face charges

A 1-year-old boy who was subject of an Amber Alert incident that started in Montana was found safe in Fife Sunday morning and will be turned over to Child Protective Services here in Washington.

Brayden Blasius, was taken from his home in Kalispell in northwest Montana after 11 p.m. Saturday by his non-custodial parents.

An anonymous citizen reported that the stolen white Chevy pickup associated with the Amber Alert was parked at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of 23rd Street East, Fife police said.

Officers arrived there within minutes and arrested 28-year-old Beau Blasius and 23-year-old Bryndi Gibson without incident.

The boy was found seated in the pickup and was unharmed, police said.

He was taken into protective custody and will go to CPS.

Blasius and Gibson are being booked into the Pierce County Jail and are expected to face charges in both Washington and Montana, Fife Police Lt. Kevin Farris said. according to an Amber Alert release.

The boy is currently a ward of the state of Montana

Before he was found, the boy was reported to be in the pickup with the suspects en route to Chehalis, who were believed to be under the influence of drugs.
