SEATTLE -- Finding parking on the Seattle waterfront will be cheaper and easier on Mother's Day. The Washington State Department of Transportation and City of Seattle have partnered with local businesses to offer free parking for customers who want to eat, shop, and spend time with family in the area.
Between the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Elliott Bay seawall replacements, it's been tough for visitors to find parking along the waterfront.
Drivers are asked to park in one of six participating parking locations, and will need to request a free parking voucher with a copy of their receipt at participating businesses. Upon leaving, drivers can then show their free parking voucher to the parking attendant to receive up to four hours of free parking.
Parking locations include the Pike Place Market garage, Hillclimb garage, Harbor Steps garage, Watermark Tower garage, 1st Street and Columbia Street garage, and the Western Street and Seneca Street parking lot.
Argosy Cruises, Ivar's, Seattle Aquarium, The Crab Pot, Seattle Great Wheel, and Tillicum Village are all participating businesses to score a free parking voucher.
