Car crashes into apartment building after chase; 2 arrested

RENTON, Wash. - A man and woman are under arrest after they fled from sheriff's deputies in a car early Thursday and crashed into a Renton apartment building.
The drama unfolded at about 4:15 a.m. when police got a call from a witness who saw a man and woman stripping a car, said Cindi West of the King County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, the pair took off and deputies pursued them down the Maple Valley Highway.
During the chase, the suspects' car went over a short wall and wound up in the parking lot of an apartment building just east of Interstate 405 in Renton.
The man, who was driving, jumped out of the car as it headed toward the building. The woman also tried to bail out of the car just before it crashed into the building and was injured. She was immediately taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the man fled on foot and jumped into the nearby Cedar River, where he was surrounded by deputies. He surrendered and was placed under arrest.
West said the car hit the apartment building, smashing into a room used for storage. No apartment units were damaged.
She said the suspects will be booked into jail for investigation of felony eluding. They also may face other charges, depending on what investigators find in the car.

Dear Criminals, Stealing from others, as well as running from the cops, is always a bad idea...when are you going to learn that? Why not try getting a real job making some dough like the rest of us, perhaps in the sewage industry or some other fitting line of work?...oh that's right, nobody will hire you because you have prior convictions...hmmmm. Looks like you'll just have to settle for cleaning up I-5 in those nice bright jumpsuits.
These wastes of space will probably end up doing it all over again... once released.
Hey, at least no one was killed. That's an improvement from most of the other news stories we see from this area.
The trash is definitely out lately. It's amazing to hear how many junkies/druggies, drunks, and thieves we coexist with. Â You can't lock them up fast enough!Â
