LACEY, Wash. - Thurston County sheriff's officials are trying to figure out how a driver managed to bypass a bridge and drive straight into a creek at an RV park east of Lacey.

The car went into McAllister Creek at the Nisqually Plaza RV Park at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, about 10 feet from a bridge that crosses the creek and connects with Martin Way SE.

Deputies and medics responded and were able to rescue the driver from the car. The driver then was taken to the hospital for treatment.
