Champion tree climber putting his skills to good use

LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- Dan Krauss can soar through the air and scale practically anything, but the local hero doesn't wear a cape or mask.
He uses his powers to help cats.
Krauss began his work as a feline crusader 13-years ago when a desperate cat owner called a tree service to rescue his cat from a tree.
An international tree climbing champion, Krauss decided to use his skill to rescue cats, and since then he's literally gone out on a limb for hundreds of hissing and spitting felines.
The man known as Tarzan Dan or Dan the Man has always loved cats. He recently helped out a cat named Hank, who had been stuck up a tree for two days.
The people who own the cats that Krauss rescues heap praise on him, but he doesn't let the attention go to his head.
"I don't really consider myself a hero, you know," he said. "I'm not running into burning buildings. I'm not getting shot at, I'm just rescuing a cat. I'm kind of hero light."
Krauss is quick to downplay his heroics, but anyone who's seen him in action knows it's no easy task. The most difficult part is actually getting the scared cat into a bag once he reaches it.
"And I yell down, 'The cat's in the bag!' And everybody's like, 'Oh, the cat's in the bag,'" he said.

Those last sentences are just TOO FUNNY and cute.Â
Yep I am a tree climber also and have had to get several cats out of trees even my own. It is fun to help out the owners especially senior citizens. The cats are like their children practically. Â Good on you Dan for helping out like that.
Really like this guy! Wish I could climb trees like him, sounds like a fun job for a cat lover.
Shoulda got Tackleberry
I used his services many years ago! Â We call him "Dan the Cat Rescue Man". Â Saved our kitty from 75 feet up after 12 hours of meowing. Â Best money I ever spent. Â Glad to hear he's still doing this!!
Using his powers for good. Â Love it!
