Dean T. Michael
SEATTLE -- A Shoreline sex offender alleged to have posed online as a 15-year-old boy to meet teen girls is again accused of sending sexually explicit messages to children.

Previously convicted of striking up a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old, Dean T. Michael is alleged to have befriended 77 girls on the same social network he used to meet his earlier victim. Michael, 23, was arrested after a probation officer found a naked teen girl hiding in his closet during a random search of his home.

Having been convicted of a sex crime as a juvenile, Michael was again charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes in 2012. In that case, Michael admitted to sending sexual messages to a 14-year-old girl he met on MyYearbook.com, the same site he is now alleged to have used to meet dozens of girls.

Initially sentenced to probation in the 2012 offense, Michael was at his home on Oct. 2 when a Department of Corrections officer arrived to conduct a surprise inspection.

According to charging papers, the community corrections officer heard running when he knocked on Michael's door. Searching the home, he found a naked 18-year-old girl hiding in Michael's closet.

The corrections officer also found Michael had obtained a smart phone in apparent violation of his probation, according to charging papers. Searching the phone, the officer found the Meetme application - a service formerly known as MyYearbook.com - had been installed.

Examining the phone, the officer found Michael described himself on Meetme as a 15-year-old boy named "Mark Morris," a King County Sheriff's Office detective said in charging papers. "Morris" had connected with 80 Meetme users, all of whom were female and 77 of whom were underage.

Investigators claim Michael engaged in sexually explicit "chats" with several teens. According to charging papers, Michael asked the girls for nude photos while describing the size of his own genitals.

Michael, a Shoreline Community College student, has been charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes and is currently jailed. If convicted, it will be Michael's fourth conviction for that offense.
