Construction worker slashed with box cutter during fight
FIFE, Wash. - An argument between two construction workers escalated into violence Thursday when one of the men slashed the other with a box cutter, police said.

Officers responded to the scene, in the 2800 block of Pacific Highway East, at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a stabbing.

An investigation found that the incident began as two construction workers got into a verbal disagreement. One of the men slashed the tires of the other's vehicle with a box cutter, then turned the box cutter on the victim.

During the investigation it was learned that the suspect had previously threatened to kill the victim, police said.

The victim suffered a slash wound to his abdomen. He was treated at the scene by medics and released.

The suspect was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault, felony harassment and third-degree malicious mischief .

The names and ages of the construction workers were not immediately available.
