Crews to resume search for hiker missing at Mount Baker

MOUNT BAKER, Wash. -- Search crews will be back at Mount Baker on Monday to resume their search for a missing hiker.

Whatcom County sheriff's officials said the 69-year-old man was reported missing late Saturday after failing to return from a day hike.

The man was hiking in the Rainbow Ridge area near Baker Lake.

Deputies found his car early Sunday and searched through the day before temporarily suspending the search effort after sunset.

Officials said the missing man is from the Bellingham area. His name has not been released.
