Deputies raid Issaquah medical marijuana grow house

ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- King County sheriff's deputies seized more than 400 marijuana plants and 50 pounds of processed pot in a Thursday morning raid in Issaquah.
Detectives arrived at the house, located in the 12700 block of 195th Place SE, at 10:30 a.m. to serve a search warrant. When they went inside, they found what is described as a "collective grow" operation.
The occupants had paperwork for the medical marijuana, but the paperwork was expired, according to the sheriff's department.
The search turned up 536 plants and 65 pounds of processed marijuana. But, due to "compliance issues," detectives only took 401 of the plants and 50 pounds of the processed pot found in the house.
Police also found an unknown amount of cash and a handgun. One of the residents is a registered felon and isn't allowed to have any guns.
Nobody was arrested and the case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office for review.

You guys are all so inorant. Just becaue this person was a felon does not necessarily mean they are a bad person now? They could've been convicted 30 years ago for all you people know. People change. And who says they eve knew someone had a hndgun. The medical marijuana bussiness is stil dangerous obviously they wanted some sort of protection. And another thing marijuana actually is helping a lot of patients, I heard they have some marijuana products that actually reduce cancer cell count. You are all just too oblivious and so blinded by what society says is "right and wrong" these people are probably nice people none of you know ANYTHING about them and you are all so quick to judge. This world is so sick no one gives anyone a chance, they just judge. And now these people are being perseuted for expired papers? There are rapest and murders walking around free right now go dedicate your time to finding them and persecuted them.
Once again this illustrates the irresponsibility of pot advocates.Â
Why is it that all pot dealers, whether legal or not, are all shady? A felon?! Handguns?!
But... like it's medicine man ?..???.... I am a "farm-a-cyst" so back off already.
Â
Felon? Gun? Like no way dude. Have a free one and some chicken wings.
Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that defeats the argument for legalization. Â
Â
A convicted felon with a gun - really now? Â
Â
If you're gonna do this - do it by the book-COMPLETELY by the book! Â Yes, that does include keeping your paperwork up-to-date. Â If you drive a car or run a business, you are required to keep your driver's license, insurance, registration, business license, tax forms, etc., current - why is this any different?
Â
Idiots. Way to destroy the efforts of those who are attempting to legitimize this concern. Â Now, don't attack me - I'm not an avid "pro-pot" person. Â I could honestly care less. Â But, it just never ceases to amaze me when we hear of stories like this. Â Â
@Michael Merry Actually you can petition the courts in the state of Washington to get your gun rights back, it all depends on the felony. You might want to look at the statutes, some of the things that are felonies are less worse than some things  that are misdemeanors.Â
@Charlie Mukilteo I am aware of the right to petition.  Directly from KOMO's story: "One of the residents is a registered felon and isn't allowed to have any guns."This tells me that this person didn't (currently) have rights to own a firearm.  Even so...a convicted felon involved in a grow house - gun rights or not -  Facepalm.  Again, if you're going to run a LEGITIMATE business, do it by the book. Â
@Michael Merry  @Charlie Mukilteo ...they did not specify which resident owned the gun....just because one of the undisclosed number of residents is a felon, it does not mean they all are...the owner could very well own it legally & have a CWP....the story is vague.
So because some of the paperwork was expired, they're going to go through the expense and trouble of raiding a house and taking personal belongings. Â That's just awesome. Â
Â
How about the cops go after real criminals instead of attacking people growing a damned plant. Â Give me a break.
They sound like a quality bunch of people.....
Wow, I feel a lot safer now! Â
Â
In other news, Taco Bell sales are down due to a decrease in people having the munchies. Â
What a waste of time, money and resources.
@F4I Did someone call and complain that the police didnt respond to their calls cause the police were doing something less useful? Nothing was wasted, and its not hard for them to keep their paperwork updated if everything is all good.. but there mistakes can cost them... lesson learned...
Good!
