Detectives work to ID body dumped outside Graham home

GRAHAM, Wash. - Homicide investigators worked Sunday to identify a man whose brutalized body was found dumped in the yard of an unoccupied new home in rural Pierce County on Saturday.
The victim appears to be in his 40s, but no identification was found on his person and detectives are starting from zero as they try to figure out who he is, said Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer.
"He has nothing on him at all other than the clothes he is wearing," said Troyer. "There's nothing in his pockets. We have not found any drugs. There's no weapons and no ID, so we have some work to do."
The man's body was spotted in the 22100 block of 124th Avenue East by neighbor Jeremy Lee as he was returning from running errands on Saturday morning.
"We saw what looked like trash thrown down there, which has happened in the past," he said. "So we came back (from running errands) and the sun was up a little higher, and we saw what was an obvious body."
"It was a shock, quite frankly," Lee said. "I've never seen a dead body before. It was gross. It was gruesome."
He called 911 and deputies immediately responded to the scene.
The man, who has long brown hair, was lying face down in the dirt with his hands tied behind him and obvious wounds on his face and a red bandana around his neck. The cause of death is not yet known, but the man is obviously a victim of homicide, Troyer said.
"There's a lot of trauma to the body," he said. "Were not going to know the exact cause of death until the medical examiner can do some further work."
Troyer said detectives will see if the man can be identified by his fingerprints. Investigators also are checking missing-person reports.
Troyer said the man apparently was killed elsewhere and his body dumped beside the home. He said there appears to be no connection between the home and the body.
"This is a dirt road ... and somebody looked for a rural spot to dump the body and just randomly ended up in this driveway because it is the only house in the area," he said.
Residents in the area said they heard a car drive by just before midnight on Friday and detectives made prints of tire tracks found near the body.
"A car flew down the gravel road doing about 40 or 45 mph," said neighbor Jessica Almanza. "People speed on this road all the time, so we really don't think too much of it. But then my dog was barking all night long - so who knows what was going on after that."
"I've lived here for four years, and there's never been anything like this, so it was quite shocking. You don't think it will happen so close to home."

He matters to somebody. I hope they identify him soon and his family will at least know where he is. I hope that the person or persons that killed him will be caught soon too.

Please check ethnicity for upper European descent. Â Also check for any clues as to his line of work. Â Hands in particular.
Oh, and the proper spelling is 'bandana', not 'bandanna'. Spell check is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
That's such a striking house! I was hoping to read about all of the features and hopefully a price and when it was built.

Oh, wait. That was yesterday's poorly written article. Carry on, KOMO.
I am gonna bet its drug related or gang related.
Wow KOMO, you really toned down this article. You must have discovered that it is against the law in Washington to sell houses without a real estate license.
