Police worry officers, public now targeted by double murder suspect

SEATTLE -- Police are searching the Northwest for a man who they say killed his grandparents and stole their car just hours after being released from a Washington state prison, and has since tried to obtain weapons.
Michael "Chad" Boysen, 26, was released from prison Friday after serving time for robbery, and his grandparents picked him up, authorities said. He is suspected of killing the 82-year-old man and 80-year-old woman Friday night or early Saturday at their home in the Fairwood area of Renton, police said.
"I can't stress how dangerous this guy is," King County Sheriff John Urquhart said at a Monday afternoon news conference. He said Boysen had made threats against family members and law enforcement officials, but he did not elaborate.
"We don't want another Maurice Clemmons situation in Western Washington," he said.
Clemmons killed four police officers in Lakewood in November of 2009.
Urquhart said the grandparents were not shot, but he declined to provide other details about their killings, pending autopsies.
Detectives believe Boysen is trying to find weapons, and Urquhart said authorities do not believe he had a gun when he left the crime scene. He had been searching the Internet for "gun shows" across the Northwest and Nevada, the sheriff's office said.
Boysen had been in prison since 2006 on three robbery convictions in King County, said Judy Feliciano with the Washington Department of Corrections. He was released Friday from the prison at Monroe and was supposed to check in with a community supervision officer within 24 hours, she said.
Urquhart said Boysen's grandparents had picked him up from the prison and fixed up a room in their home for him to stay in.
"We are at a loss as to why he killed them," the sheriff said. "We don't know what the motive is."
Boysen is 5-foot-10, 170 pounds with hazel eyes. He may be driving the red, 2001 Chrysler 300, Washington license 046XXU.
Autopsies were scheduled Monday on the victims and their names would be released later, the King County medical examiner's office said.
Friends and family members identified the elderly couple to TV stations as Robert R. and Norma J. Taylor.
Boysen was last heard from on Friday night when he attended what was described as a welcome home party for his release from prison. Urquhart said the rest of the family members in attendance left around 9 p.m. and they believe the Taylors were killed sometime after that. Their bodies were discovered Saturday evening by their daughter who had become concerned they could not be reached.
Deputies have since put the other family members in protective custody and are working 24-hours a day to find Boysen.
"It's an exceedingly heinous crime from anyway you look at it and the risk that is out there is extreme," Urquhart said. "I can't emphasize that enough - the risk is extreme."
Anyone who sees Boysen or the car is asked to call 911 immediately.

Hey Giraffe, Are you new dude????? REally????????? At Pearl Harbour they attacked us by air dude, and it didnt get any further because they did not try to invade us by ground that would be suicide in this country buddy. 9/11, sure they attacked us man, by air once again not on land dude. Get your facts strait. Nobody has attacked on land yet and prolly will not ever happen.
The justice system could do a lot by making some real laws to prevent crime. How bout this, 1 felony of robbery you get 5 years in prison, you get a 2nd conviction you get 15 to 20, i guarantee you that this would do wonders against crime. This Michael guy got an absolute slap on the hand with 3 convictions he only served 6 years, WTF?????????? This is a complete joke.
This reminds me of the cases of Charles Rodman Campbell He only did 5 years out of a 40 year sentence. Got out on good behavior and killed three people out of revenge. And they want to abolish the death penalty. What are they thinking???
@kgvm hcleader.info\/wflNwgXKn
The real question should be, why was he loosed upon society ... again?
@Mouse KillazOur great justice system at work once more!
Hey Justiceforall, here is a good one for you lamo, why dont you move to North Korea where they have gun control???? That would be the perfect place for you man, plus they can maybe take all your food and do whatever they want to you, but watch out the chances are high that they will make you go hungary and possibly die due to hunger unless you are strong enough or healthy enough to join the military, if you dont you are trash, but i tell you what all your leaders who are all military will have plenty of ammo to use on you if they want to kill you off like all of the others they have done it to.
Socialjusticeforall, Really dude???????? Really????? Do you know the number 1 reason why we the U.S.A have not been attacked here on land???????? I didnt think so buddy, the #1 reason is that we have a gun hiding behind every tree jack. Would you rather keep these idiot criminals locked up or killed or would you rather let them free and create gun control and have these idiots still find away to kill people because he is a killer anyway, Oh and also have other countries love the fact that our citizens do not bare arms anymore and have our government loving the fact that if our government ever fails which it very well might some day bcecause every government fails sooner or later, we would atleas
@BT7779Â
Umm... wrong, but keep dreaming and living that "Gun behind every tree" fantasy.
#1 reason we haven't been 'invaded' is because we have massive shorelines that are more easily protected, and it doesn't hurt that Canada and Mexico are our allies.
Now.. with that said.. we have been 'attacked'. Remember 9/11? Every gun behind every tree in the continental US didn't stop that one. nor Pearl Harbor, Â nor the Oklahoma City bombing.
An armed citizenry does very little, if nothing, to deter others from attacking on our soil.
I think society is wrong. We need to go back to the "Wanted Dead or Alive" reward system and let the bounty hunters and trackers chase this guy down.
Oh but that wouldn't civilized.
In fact, this could be a great sorce of revenue for the state.
We could offer large rewards for guys like this on the run, and let the private sector help corner him and chase him down and bring him in with cuffs or a body bag.
The state could license and regulate and tax this industry and the rewards.
The rewards could be created by selling a new lotto game, you buy tickets and split the reward with the guy that catches this guy, of course both of you pay taxes on the sales.
This gives me another idea, this state could increase the sales on scratch tickets if they offered one that give you a "get of jail free card" to the lucky winner
Darn, he is in a hotel in Lincoln city Oregon. Now Oregon is gonna want income tax on the reward too.
Terrific.
Some liberal ass judicial system let this guy out cause he "answered all the questions right," geeh you think someone found his clift notes under the matress in his cell?
Now the same liberal ass society in this country is telling me that while this guy is out running around that I don't have the right to own, carry, or protect myself with firearms???
Well thankfully this guys is a felon because then at least he knows it would be against the law to posses a firearm.
Evergreen101, you could not be more right on that one man. Guns dont kill people do, and if they have no guns they will find a way to kill anyway no matter what.
NW-ECONOMIST, I will have to 100%%%% respectively disagree with you on that this is not a gun issue. When our justice system lets crazy lunitics out of jail who are a little crazy and do not care about anything that is a gun issue because this guy will shoot somebody when given a chance and our justice system is causing this and will blame the gun when its really the justice system its self and the crazy criminal who commits the crimes. Our justice system needs to take actions on crazy criminals especially the ones who have committed more than one fellony. The system is screwing up the whole gun issue by allowing these stupid crazy criminals onto the street, then the rest of us good people who dont commit crimes get punished, justice system wake up and do something besides put these crazies onto the street, and instead of paying attention to stuped stuff like bikini baristas and the owners who own these businesses and lets start chasing the people who are really bad and keeping them where they belong in prison.
And the truth finally came out.
This guy was in prison for FIRST DEGREE ROBBERY. Why was he let out? This isn't a gun control issue, this is a soft-on-crime-liberal-judges-screwing-over-society problem.Â
Take him down like a rabid dog. No other way to deal with some "thing" like that.
It was reported that he made death threats. He said that he'd kill his grandparents, family members, and the police while he was still in prison. Somebody in the prison knew, but that information apparently wasn't passed on to his family members.
The story will no doubt change. As soon as some idiot figures out it will help their liberal cause. Suspect shot grandparents with assault type weapon. I can read the headlines now.
@Magicalwoman Another class A troll. Nice job comparing your political opponents to raving evil, murdering lunatics to help your cause whatever it may be.Â
Also, it helps to read the whole story before you start rambling, the grandparents weren't shot genius.
@Magicalwoman, you mean like how the first stories out of Sandy Hook stated that two handguns were used? Then it changed to an 'Assault rifle with a high capacity magazine'. Like that?
@MagicalwomanUrquhart said the grandparents were not shot, but he declined to provide other details about their killings, pending autopsies
Poster boy for the death penalty.
Judge Dredd style...
I'm staying inside, locking my doors and not going near any Starbucks or donuts shops
This guy is nothing but trash. I hope he gets killed before anymore harm is done. Â
Much more likely he has holed up somewhere and blown his own head off.
You mean someone was murdered without using a gun?
Great why do I get the feeling I know where this pile of caca is heading
This is a good time to carry your CW.
@rightandexact That's always.
Hope they catch this piece of crap. To kill your grandparents after they had a welcome home party for him, opened up there home and provided a living arrangement for him, all this and he kills his own elderly grandparents. This kind of person has no heart and has sold his soul to the devil. May his grandparents rest in peace and even though the rest of there years were taken from them here on earth, they are in a better place and will be together for eternity.
@Rick G. And despite the oh-so-vehement wishes of @Socialjusticeforall he didn't use a gun to kill his grandparents.  He did it up close and personal with a knife, a blunt instrument, or his hands.  He is pure evil.
God rest the souls of the victims who were willing to take in this P.O.S. and give him another shot at turning his life around. Â Sadly he had already decided his life is forfeit.
"We don't want another Maurice Clemmons," said King County Sheriff John Urquhart on the search for Boysen.
Sadly, he will find the guns he wants because there are thousands upon thousands of guns in our area in the hands of people who can become victims of a robbery by this guy and have their guns taken by this monster who as we know won't stop at anything. Thank you NRA and pro-gun lobby for making so many homes the place for this guy to get guns from. I know, I know, I am just a lib and I guess Sheriff John Urquhart must be too, according to his concerns.
@Socialjusticeforall  " I know, I know, I am just a lib..." The first part of recovery is admitting you have a problem. I am a "cup is half full" kinda guy, so I have faith that you will someday remove your head from your arse.
@Socialjusticeforall We'll see if he gets a gun(s)...
@Socialjusticeforall The thing about rights, is they should just be there w/o the need for a lobbying group...
@Socialjusticeforall And maybe he'll pick your house, where you're completely and willingly defenseless.  He could use a butter knife or a sharp stick while you beg and plead for your pathetic life, which you obviously don't value enough to protect.
Hey, maybe you'll be able to call 911 first so the police will get there while your body is still warm.
Yeah, I know, I know--you're just a lib. Â Always relying on the mercy of criminals and somebody else to do the heavy lifting of doing something about them.
@MathBeHard @Socialjusticeforall Â
Well put. It is liberals like Socialjusticeforall, that would sit by, watch a crime happen, not do anything, except maybe call 911, then bit-- that the Police didn't handle it correctly, or got there quick enough. (whether a gun was used or not.)
Of course then he/she would then complain that guns were what caused the criminal to commit the crime.
@Socialjusticeforall Simple solution. Go back to your country of heritage where they have strict gun control and you can relax. You always say you are Hispanic first and American second so go.
@Socialjusticeforall The Pro-gunners and NRA don't want thieves to be able to get our guns. Most gun owners I know have safes. BIG safes. Why does this have to be about guns? We have a dirtbag here who killed his loving grandparents. Let's hope he is taken into custody soon.
socialjusticeforall@ Â
Or just wait for the mayor to hold another outdoor flea market
@Socialjusticeforall You're pathetic.  Caught up in your fantasy world like all the other anti 2nd amendment people.  Law abiding, responsible gun owners are among the most responsible, cautious, and protective people around.  You obviously don't know squat about buying firearms, hence your ignorant comments.  There are no loop holes unless you're a criminal and you count theft as a loophole.  Guns can be stolen from irresponsible gun owners usually because they don't lock them up, but that's not normal, it's stupidity.  Most of us have a big safe bolted to the floor.  Typically you can't buy a gun from a private party unless you show your concealed pistol license, and even then, if the guy is sketchy it's a deal breaker.  You can't blame the gun owners, it makes you sound foolish.  I'm so sick of your kind just eating up everything the mainstream media regurgitates.  If you don't know anything about firearms, then don't talk about it, and don't talk about people who own them, it's sickening.  It's a good thing you morons on the anti gun side don't own any guns, because it would be a crime to carry a gun while smokin' up that legalized marijuana.
@Socialjusticeforall You are a moron, you need help. Why dont you blame the NRA for global warming while your at it.
@Socialjusticeforall Sheriff John Urquhart knows what the prison system does to first time offenders, it makes them harder and more ruthless and they become 2nd time offenders. This guy is a 3rd time offender and Urquhart knows letting these people out of our perverted prison system is a crime to all law abiding citizens.
It has been the liberal mindset that says we have to go easy on prisoners. It has been the liberal mindset that says criminals should have TVs and game rooms and weight rooms (you know to bulk up for when they get out) and visitations and educational opportunities and access to legal consultants and libraries and the internet. It has been the liberal mindset that says parole is good. It has been the liberal mindset that tries to outlaw executions. So I guess you are getting what you deserve it is just unfortunate that people who never would want these things have to deal with these thugs once they are released from prison.
Maybe when the liberal mindset is done trying to reform our prisoners with love versus justice, maybe when the liberal mindset has experienced first hand what our criminals are capable of, maybe then they will realize it takes a person to commit horrible things and letting these people out on society after being repeat offenders is just adding fuel to the fire until we can have real prison reform. The joke it is now mainly from the liberal reforms is only a happy place for hardened criminals to chill, have 3 squares, get trained up physically and mentally and then go back to society and enjoy the havoc until they get some more rest time.
@Beam_Me_Up @Socialjusticeforall This has nothing at all to do with being a liberal or being a conservative. Focus on the topic being discussed and leave your liberal comments for a political discussion. I think this guy should never have been let out of prison. He killed 4 police officers in 2009 and was already back on the street 4 years later? This is a perfect example of a failing justice system.
@Ron @Beam_Me_Up @Socialjusticeforall Tell that to @Socialjusticeforall as he berates and blames law abiding citizens for the problems in society (at least his society). The liberal mindset is anti gun and has been responsible for the prison reforms that have transformed prisons from the horrible places they should be, one that no one would want to repeat a stay in and thus one who does stay once will reform if there is any normalcy left in the inmate, to a prison that is more of a health resort with educational benefits and the more stays an inmate has the more cred he has on the inside.
I am tired of people like @Socialjusticeforall blaming conservatives that don't need to change things that have worked in the past and then when the changes are implemented like coddling inmates @Socialjusticeforall just blames the conservatives over and over again for the failing liberal policies. Get over it, loving inmates does not work and because of these liberal mindset changes to our prison systems we wind up with people like Michael "Chad" Boysen who got released and killed his grandparents within 24 hours.
And as you have already been replied to, Maurice Clemmons was killed by police during his manhunt after killing the 4 police officers. But, you are right talking about Maurice Clemmons, he should never have been released also. Another win for the liberal mindset of Western Washington state.
@rightandexact, I'm confused. I posted that to Ron. Do you have dual avatars? But yeah, you're right. It would be horrible if he did that, (open fire in a public place).
@SargeMcC Yeah, I can see that but I see this guy just going into a random public place and opening fire on innocent people. Hopefully, the media coverage is keeping everybody cognizant of their surroundings. Â
@Ron, this POS hasn't killed any police, yet. That was Maurice Clemmons. Folk are afraid that this guy might kill police if he gets a gun. Please read the whole story.
@Socialjusticeforall Â
Yeah, that darned second amendment. Clarifying our rights. If only you had a president that would try to trample on it.
@Socialjusticeforall, first, change your avatar name.
Second, Thank you for supplying my next cut to your neck. This POS will end up dead now because heads are up. No-one who recognizes his face would put a gun in his hand, they would kill him first.
Third, you're still an anus.
