Driver fleeing from cops barely escapes vehicle after fiery crash
ISSAQUAH, Wash. - A driver who fled from police at high speed during a routine traffic stop early Friday ended up crashing into parked cars not far away and barely escaping from the vehicle as it burst into flames, police said.
The incident began at about 12:45 a.m. Friday when an Issaquah police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a minor traffic infraction in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road.
The driver failed to stop, turned his headlights off and sped off to the east at high speed. The officer terminated the traffic stop and did not pursue the vehicle.
Later, after checking the surrounding area, the officer found the fleeing vehicle had slammed into three parked cars in the 4700 block of W. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, and the driver’s vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle through the driver’s side window, and then collapsed. Two Issaquah officers then pulled him away from the burning vehicle.
Eastside Fire and Rescue crews responded and extinguished the fire.
The driver, a 24-year-old Issaquah man, was taken to Overlake Hospital, where he was listed in satisfactory condition.
This incident remains under investigation.

Let me take a wild guess and say he was drunk.Â
I bet he had been smoking pot before all this went down.

It looks like THIS zombie is in deep kimchee. How these idiots even survive each day of their undead lives is beyond my comprehension.
If I were the police, I would not have been in any rush to try and save him.
How about posting the name?
Another useless POS in our society.
Look at the actual video live, my buddy got outside his house

so far he's the recipient of the Moron of The Day award
@Lrry*x*KÂ Trust me. There will be many competitors for this award today.
L.... Loser!
They should have let him burn.
@dgruntled wow guy, its Friday, chill out
What the hell was he thinking? I'm glad he was the only one hurt and that he didn't take out a bunch of innocent victims during his little drive.  What a flippin' idiot!Â
@The WA Mama I think that the owners of those three cars, that he crashed into, would call themselves innocent victims. Who will pay for their losses, and troubles? Who will pay his hospital bills?
Rockguy Let me clarify my statement..... when I stated that I was glad he didn't take out a bunch of innocent victims, I meant actually physically harming or killing people. As far as damage to the other vehicles, I hope the driver had insurance and/or the vehicle owners had coverage (UIM or comp/coll) to cover their losses. As far as his medical bills, I don't really care, but since he is under 25 he may still be on his parents plan if he's not insured on his own. Did I miss anything else?
@The WA Mama Â
The scary statistic that about 1/5 (16%% Actually)of theÂ
drivers in Washington do not carry insurance means
that it would be wise to have uninsured motorist
coverage.
@The WA Mama I would venture to guess that he was not thinking.
