E. coli contaminates some Spokane Valley water

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (AP) - About 2,300 homes and businesses in the Spokane Valley have been advised to boil drinking water because of E. coli contamination.

The advisory affects only customers of Pasadena Park Irrigation District 17.

KXLY reports the health department is advising residents to boil water for at least one minute. Crews are looking for the source of the bacteria.

Meanwhile, the city has increased the level of chlorine in the water and warns people they should only wash white clothes because the chlorine could cause colors to fade.
