Empty chair props popping up in Lewis County

NAPAVINE, Wash. -- Two empty chairs in Lewis County are a tribute to Clint Eastwood, Mitt Romney and Republicans.
In blue Seattle, many thought Clint Eastwood has lost it when he did is infamous "empty chair" speech during the Republican Convention. Gone over the edge.
But where the hay meets the road, down in Lewis County, they love Clint Eastwood, the flag and Republicans:
"I'm all for the empty chair," said Anita Mulligan, adding she loved what Eastwood said during the speech to an imaginary President Obama.
And this isn't the only empty chair in the county. One near Napavine is on appropriately-named Rush Road. It's near I-5, near a truck stop. But it's so far off the road most drive by right past it, seeing nothing.
"I drive up and down the road," said Clair Hamilton. "I didn't see any empty chair."
The even bigger question is what does it mean? One display, a simple empty chair with an American Flag next to it.
A second: an empty chair and a golf club with a sign: "Vote 4 me 4 more years of BHO."

"Because that means we have a mindless president," Mulligan said.
Everyone at local hangout Frosty's is a Republican. At least they all say they are.
"I don't know any who will admit to being a Democrat around here," one said.
So why put up the chair here? Maybe to get attention, to point out you can't paint all of Western Washington blue.

Rush, the rock n roll band, is pretty awesome and doesn't deserve that.
It should be interesting to see what happens when socialism takes over completely and they start trying to take everything away from us. I wonder just how many people have secret bunkers in the mountains so they don't have to live in "civilization" any more. Not that I would call America civilized any more. There's nothing but unrest, higher crime rates, and increasing poverty. Gee, sounds like we are well on our way to becoming a 3rd world country, I wonder whose idea that was?

@KOMO_Sapiens Please don't equate ALL of us in Lewis County with trashy hillbillies. Many of us are educated & vote according to our beliefs, no matter which way they lean. We keep up our property. We work for a living & pay our taxes. We enjoy the beauty & solitude of the country so choose not to live amongst the rucus of city life. Besides, you get much more property for your money in the more rural counties.

Us census 2010: Lewis county, Wa. High School graduates; Lewis county 84.9%, Wa state 89.6%. College degrees; Lewis county 15%, Wa state 31%.Â
Last year there was an article on a mill in eastern Lewis county, that shut down because China decided it would import logs and mill them in China, rather than continue buying lumber from this mill. Weyerhauser is the largest private land owner in Lewis County, they are a huge exporter of raw logs.
Maybe that empty chair should be for all the mill jobs and the retailers that were supported by those jobs.
Quit buying items made in China. That is all.

The only people who believe Obama's not done anything are the extremists who hate him. Everyone else lives in reality where he's done alot. It's argueable whether it's been good or bad, but he's clearly not the empty chair that these alternate reality clowns think.

the only reason that obama can't get anything done fast is the republicans are still running the senate and block him. if Romney gets in then the republicans can finish wrecking America like they did with the Bush years. it's the republicans who ruined the american way of life. they only look out for the rich and figure if you can't make money then you get nothing from them. if Romney gets in the rich won't be paying more taxes to help the economy. that means you and i are footing the bill.Â

Gov. Romney's economic philosophy is to keep the rich getting richer! He actually believes this will keep America afloat.. Hmmmmm...let's take a moment and think about his philosophy. Who else shared that fundamental belief?  Yes, you're correct! President Bush!!  Who left our country in a death roll by the time he left office!!  That's right!  President Obama has been highly effective in turning around a sinking economy for the last four years. Are we out of trouble yet?No, it's going to take more time and that's just common sense. When President Obama became the President of the United States of America, our Country and  our banks were on the cliff and within days of financial collapse! Osama Bid Laden was still on the run and several of our US auto plants were circling the drain. It is In fact President Obama and his Administration who pulled our Country out of the abyss. Since that first year, President Obama has made great strides in repairing our relationships globally with the many allies we were on the outs with as a direct result of the war times and corporate greed of companies like Halliburton and many others who's sole agenda is to feed the war machine!!  President Obama already has an exit strategy in place to begin bringing our Soldiers home from Afghanistan. President Obama has made great strides in increasing Green company efforts to get the USA off foreign oil dependency!  Before President Obama took office 800,000.00 people a month were losing  their jobs! Thousands of Americans were facing immediate or impending foreclosure of our homes! Why? Because of President Bush's policies and the banks that were giving loans to many thousands who could not afford the mortgage payments!!!  President Obama's actions have saved  ten of thousands of Americans from losing their homes to foreclosure  with home recovery plans that are now firmly in place! President Obama has worked tirelessly to restore jobs to many Americans by saving the very companies they work for from doors being shut.  President Obama has created tens of thousands of jobs that didn't even exist when he took office! President Obama's Jobs Bill has been blocked by the republicans over and over again, not to mention the most recent Veterans Job bill that was denied by Romney/Ryan and many other republicans just  three weeks ago. President Obama and Michelle Obama have been huge supporters of our Military families for years and have continued to show that support throughout President Obama's first term. President Obama is an intelligent and level headed President who has shown us all that in times of pressure and peril, he is in fact Our Leader. He does not flip flop, he does not talk out of both sides of his mouth and he does not sell out 47% of Americans to the rich with open check books!! !President Obama needs your support and your Vote!  Please make sure that you are registered to Vote and please make sure to show up on election day! Have you even read about the "Glass Steagal Act" and why it was originally enacted? Or the NAFTA disaster? signed into law by Idiot Clinton in 1996...  @BeKind I'm a 26 year vet. Take your homeless children commercial to the bleeding hearts. I sold plasma to get my kid school lunches because I couldn't get a job in this economy. I don't need sympathy or a handout. I paid my mortgage every month, all my bills, and scraped by on my military retirement and made it work. I didn't qualify for free handouts. Giving slackers free money is exactly what your president is doing because he's rewarding being lazy with free money. I wish I had enough time in the day to figure out how to be that lazy instead of looking for a job. I volunteer on my free time instead of slacking around on my couch waiting for the 1st of the month. Also, I'd like to see some drug tests for people on welfare since most businesses require it for actually doing work.
