Everett football coach on leave as background investigated

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A Catholic school in Everett has put its interim head football coach on leave while officials explore issues raised about his previous job in Oregon.
Archbishop Murphy High School officials told The Daily Herald Michael Allison agreed to be placed on paid administrative leave while they review the issues that have been raised in the newspaper.
Allison ended his teaching career at a school in Oregon after he stipulated to an inappropriate relationship with a female student. No criminal allegations were made against him.
Allison had been hired by Archbishop Murphy to be a physical education teacher. He was named football coach earlier this week.
Public records show Allison surrendered his teaching license in Oregon after an investigation in 2009 concluded he engaged in inappropriate conduct with a high school student. Allison served as head football coach at various schools in Oregon, leading Marist Catholic High School of Eugene to a state championship in 2003.

Yeah, that whole non formal blacklisting thing is working out just fine in so many critical sectors. There are many ways that criminals are beating blacklists, most of which are deliberately left there in the protocols by undetected, or suspected criminals.
And they didn't do a background check prior to hiring him, as a teacher? I thought everyone did background checks. Things that make you go hmmmmm.......
@TheSkyIsFalling No, the background checks don't include Catholic clergy. That would be cruel and inhuman.
Did Arc Bishop Murphy know before hiring him? If they knew and hired him anyway, BAD. If they did a poor background check, BAD. Â What's the story here? is journalism dead?????
Yep, he worked for another Catholic school in Oregon...pass the trash. Â Here again, more info found at the link to the Everett Herald. Â
Sounds like a Catholic Church move, just move them to a new location..
wtf does "after he stipulated to an inappropriate relationship" meam? do these reporters know, uh, words and stuff?
Sounds like he ""AGREED" on both.Being placed on paid leave,AND having the relationship.Makes you wonder about some people.Thinking with the wrong ""head"".
my point is the sentence makes no sense. the word "stipulated" is nonsense here.
Totally agree with you..
...and why wouldn't his history be known BEFORE hiring him?
